I sprung for a zero turn last summer and don't regret that one bit. I mow a couple acres of yard and a zero turn is so much better than a lawn tractor.
Think I'm closing this purchase out, but it has been eye opening how little effort most tractor salesmen are putting forth these days. I stepped in front of 2 different salesmen last week on a cold day and neither one of them wanted to leave the comfort of their office to show me a tractor. Basically threw me the keys and told me to have fun. It was fine as I don't need alot of hand holding, but I had to chuckle at their lack of effort. Another one I spoke to on the phone seemed completely disinterested in talking to me. Didn't ask a single question or tell me if he had or didn't have the model I inquired about on his lot, he just quoted me the price. I understand they probably get lots of calls that don't lead to a sale, but the call to sale ratio might improve if you ask a few leading questions and give more than yes/no answers to the customer.
The one salesman near me who has hustled to get my business just doesn't have the tractor I want due to lack of inventory.
Its been a good learning process and frankly is still better than pushy car salesmen (not all are pushy...).
