Collegiate Football Re-allignment

He makes some valid points but it would never happen because of money and TV. Hell, money and greed destroyed one of the greatest annual games in Oklahoma/Nebraska. If someone said to you in 1986, hey, by 1998, Nebraska and Oklahoma won’t be playing each other every year, people would be like, you texasing crazy, It’s the best rivalry game in the country.

No chance in hell that happens. Too much money out there. However, it will be quite interesting to see what happens should Covid19 shut down, or severely limit this upcoming season. There could be some schools in big trouble, even some power 5 schools.

Is big trouble the same as deep dookie?

The idea is better than the execution IMO. CFB already has far too many snooze fest games. This alignment, while good on consistency and parity between conferences, would only create more horrifically uncompetitive games in conference play.

It seems Forde acknowledges there are too many obstacles for this to happen as he has laid it out. I think it was mostly done because it creates a topic for college football fans to discuss. I do appreciate the idea that it would limit travel and related costs. And expand the playoff. Otherwise, it's all in good fun. That said, college football is bound to change -- it always does.

This would be extremely poor for NU ... the B1G - the B1G Ten Network and the revenue it generates would negatively impact Nebraska.

CFB is going to change but it is going to contract not expand.
