What puke...hard to believe American sports fans are so stupid they love pukes like this guy and Rome.

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with people loving him...tv/radio stations have to have someone on and generally people will just listen to listen. Example I listen to the God awful Dan Lebatard show in the AM on the way to work...I work my way between that and the Seattle duo of Brock and Salk in the morning. Lebatard much like Cowherd is white noise to fill my time during station breaks. Point is....someone has to be on air.

Even though I can't stand CowTerd, Can't say I disagree with anything he said. Certainly love seeing NU at 7-0 so far but does anyone here or in the fanbase REALLY think NU is one of the 4 best teams out there? Or even truly a top 10 team this year?

Nope! But we COULD BE!!!!!

IF the Defense continues to develop at the pace they have so far this season; i.e. Living up to the 'Lock-Down U' reputation; The OL get Healthy, protecting the QB enough to keep 'Bad' Tommy at Bay, and all of our Offensive Threats return; i.e. Westercamp, Cethan Carter, DPE, Ozigbo, et al! Much like the Foster Farms Bowl Game, We Could be Peaking at just the right time!

Regarding Nebraska not being a Top Ten Coaching Destination; We may not be a Top Ten Destination; but I believe we have a Top-Ten Coaching Staff!!!!!!

I look at this season as one where even the most optimistic fan thought 7-0 was not possible. some such as myself predicted going to Whisky undefeated but in the back of my mind i had to admit to myself it was very unlikely. Well here we are on Mike's last great adventure and I for one am enjoying the ride and could care less what some dimwit has to say about us.

I had Nebraska going 7-0 into the Wisconsin game in the preseason contest. I also having them losing the next two. But what do I know.

It's not his assessment of NU's potential that is the issue in my eyes, it is his labeling of the team as whiners and complainers.

I have no issues with his statements. PFF grades Tommy Armstrong the worst throwing QB in the conference and we're 7-0. We will eventually become better. Nate Gerry won't be picked in the first round, but he's probably first round talent or close to it this season. Jones is making plays. Westerkamp has some of the best hands but plays a slot position so won't be picked high. If you want first round picks, you've got to produce athletes at QB, OT, DE, DT and then the others are top flight. Hell Desmond King, the Thorpe award winner last year is a projected 2nd Rounder this year and not even top of the 2nd.

So I can agree with him, we need to get a championship in Lincoln before we can start saying we're back to anything we were in the 90s.

I will say this. I remember similar rantings and ravings toward the end of the 93 season. It was used as an explanation for why FSU was a 17.5 point favorite. I even remember one announcer saying. "The only team that they have beaten is UCLA and they were not ranked at the time NE beat them." Now we are hearing the only team we have beaten is NWU who wasn't that good when we played them. So I guess I am saying all things old are new again.

2 weeks from now we will either be true title contenders or another team on the also ran pile, but it will by obvious for all to see. Today we ARE NOT contenders. We can be, its all on us to prove it

I wonder about Washington...I think they are a good team but they are getting good mileage with their wins over Stanford and Oregon, albeit convincing wins, when looking at it now those two teams are not what people thought initially to start the year.

Cowherd is not a shock jock. He's opinionated. There's a massive difference. It's not like he goes out of his way to say something just to get hits. He'll back his opinion up most every time. Whether or not you agree or disagree isn't the point. Essentially the same with Rome, except his DOES like to anger specific targeted individuals from time to time.

Cowherd happens to be correct about NU. But it doesn't matter. The game is played on Saturday, not debated on talk-radio.
