Plus, we suck.I think Nebraska is worse.

Iowa apparently felt their midfield logo was sacred enough to stage state troopers in order to prevent Nebraska from conducting a pregame team prayer. Seems silly.Agreed. The pregame prayer isn’t a performance. It doesn’t need to happen on the field.
It’s become an unnecessary distraction. Pray in the locker room and focus on catching footballs on the field.
State Trooper protection seems extreme as well. I have no issue with a team prayer but it strikes me as performative to do it at midfield. If it has to be on the field, the visiting team gets a sideline. Do it there.Iowa apparently felt their midfield logo was sacred enough to stage state troopers in order to prevent Nebraska from conducting a pregame team prayer. Seems silly.
But the spirit of prayer shouldn't be antagonistic. I'm hoping, moving forward, Rhule seeks permission for a location on the field for the prayer.
If the home team takes offense of the visiting team praying at midfield, the logical thing for a team serious about prayer, is to find a place that doesn't offend the host.State Trooper protection seems extreme as well. Who is worse? Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State…
…not making excuses for not shaking hands but whoa Michigan said “hold our beer” then Ohio States “ours too”.
B1G looks bad this weekend.
We should not need permission to pray or have a meeting anywhere on our side of the field but if we are intruding on the other side of the 50 then that's another storyIowa apparently felt their midfield logo was sacred enough to stage state troopers in order to prevent Nebraska from conducting a pregame team prayer. Well your not supposed to dance like a Drunk Gigolo after plays either but we are still subject to that at least the Prayer circle is before the game starts and not on video unless the state troopers show up

I’m not outraged about any of that extraneous distraction. I’m pretty unhappy about special teams mistakes, the quarterback not getting the ball out before he gets stripped sacked and somehow not being able to either field a punt or get out of the way. These are important fundamental things. We’ve been lacking in mastering things like this for a long time. They are the things that make a difference between winning and losing. It’s just something to be fake outraged about. Not shaking hands, not letting them pray, it’s all just noise. None of this is a big deal nor did it change the outcome of the game. Hated rivals often do these things. No big deal unless you want to be outraged about something.
We shouldn't need to. But if the host finds a pregame prayer at midfield as offensive, the proper move for a person serious about prayer, would be to seek an area to prayer that is not offensive to the host.We should not need permission to pray or have a meeting anywhere on our side of the field but if we are intruding on the other side of the 50 then that's another story
Oh I agree with you!! but before you know it teams will be complaining about visitors walking on their names in the end zone too. I believe we have prayed before games for years as Ron Brown is the leader and even had other teams players also pray with us but maybe I'm thinking of just the after games prayer. I also don't know where the pre game prayer was held beforeWe shouldn't need to. Praying shouldn't be used as a tool to offend.
Yeah, Ron Brown led post game prayers. I have no idea where the pregame midfield prayer originated. Is it the entire team? Probably not. Why midfield? And why is midfield suddenly sacred home field territory? Seems like a lot of outrage and counter outrage being generated. I'm just so g d tired of the drama from my favorite team that struggles to play competitive football.Oh I agree with you!! but before you know it teams will be complaining about visitors walking on their names in the end zone too. Well, maybe they are trying to prevent melees like osu. Make a rule. Pregame. Everyone has their side up to the 40. 40 to 40 is dead zone. It’s a sad state of affairs that something so trivial as a piece of dirt and grass as being important.******* outrageous. I will be letting the university know it needs to make a high level apology and discipline these players if it wants to keep my support.
Nebraska was never a trash program, a trash state, or a trash people. I'm not following these jackasses down the drain.
That said, Iowa's police on the logo deal was ridiculous too. Captains not shaking hands pre-game was just way beyond the line as payback. The players over-reacted. Discipline them to make the point, then move on
