I think he was the correct choice, but I'm cool if some would rather wait and see prior to answering. I think we miss Nash and Ty alot next year, but overall our defense will be more athletic and produce more turnovers and sacks.
I am not really worried about the defensive side of the ball next year. I am, however; very worried about special teams and think we will see massive changes there. The offense will improve as the OL and skill players are added and give Dylan some help.
Overall I really liked the aggressiveness and blitzing. Im not a fan of dropping 8 in a zone with a 3 man rush.
The only negative was still giving up too many first downs on third and long.
I hope something can be done about the holding. Ty seemed to be tackled more than blocked this game. Maybe our O line does it too and gets away with it as I don’t watch them as closely as our D line pass rush.
I liked what I saw. Still a lot of improvement to be made and it will be interesting to see who gets brought in this coming season. I hope that our D remains as aggressive as we saw today.
The field was quite slick. Regardless of what you think of their competency, this is a huge disadvantage for our pass defenders. I wonder if Butler dialed up more blitzes than he normally would have to compensate. A one game sample size can't tell us if this is his tendency or simply an adjustment to the conditions, but in general the defense had a great game today.
