Yep a Coach in waiting as Servais will not retire until after the 2025 season
The whole coach-in-waiting thing is a bad idea, IMO. You will not get a quality coach who has an existing HC job to come and be in the on-deck circle for a year. It might work if you are promoting from within and want to smooth the transition, but they are not doing that. The likely internal candidate left after Servais announced he was retiring after next season
They hired the coach who was just fired at South Carolina " Kingston "
I saw that, and probably a decent hire. My point still stands; this process makes the pool of candidates much smaller IMO.
