Here are the bowl match-ups with betting lines.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF (Dec. 29)

No. 2 Clemson (-11.5) vs. No. 3 Notre Dame, 4 p.m. ET
No. 1 Alabama (-14) vs. No. 4 Oklahoma, 8 p.m. ET

OTHER NEW YEAR'S SIX

Peach Bowl (Dec. 29): Florida vs. Michigan (-6), noon ET
Fiesta Bowl (Jan. 1): LSU (-7) vs. UCF, 1 p.m. ET
Rose Bowl (Jan. 1): Ohio State (-6) vs. Washington, 5 p.m. ET
Sugar Bowl (Jan. 1): Georgia (-13) vs. Texas, 8:45 p.m. ET

For the new year's six, the SEC has 4 teams, the Big 12 has 2, the Big 10 has 2, and the Pac 12, ACC, and AAC each have 1 team.

If UCF beats LSU they will claim another national championship and surely the NCAA will recognize it. If it were a 8-team playoff, UCF would have been in as the 8th seed playing #1 Alabama...a game many have been clamoring to see.

The game I wish we could see, but won't: tOSU versus Georgia. Also, I would rather see UCF play Georgia. A UCF victory over Georgia would make a better NC claim and would create more chaos. Although LSU beat Georgia, Georgia' owns a near miss against Alabama and they are ranked higher than LSU.
If nothing else, IMO, UCF is the most exciting team to watch in all of CF. If SF could have transferred his UCF roster to NU, we would have been in the B1G CC game for sure. UCF has an abundance play-makers and they can generate a pass rush with just 4 guys. The UCF roster also had 100% SF buy-in.

For those who thought all was lost for UCF with the absence of Mckenzie Milton, in the AAC championship game UCF QB Darriel Mack completed 70% of his passes for 348 yards, 2 TDS and no interceptions. He also had 4 rushing TDs.

When it comes to finding & recruiting good QBs, SF & MV have done very well. In their 3 years as FBS leaders, they have landed McKenzie Milton, Darriel Mack, and Adrian Martinez. Not sure if SF found Mariota while at Oregon.

Maybe NU will become QB U one day.

Thanks for doing this. Interestingly I think the most intriguing match ups of the NY6 are the ones the B1G are involved in. Those are both games I will probably watch.

The Big 10 dominated the post season last year and earned a reputation as the best conference. This year the Big 10 did poorly in non-conference games and once again everyone thinks the SEC is the cat's meow. Hopefully the Big 10 will change that perception during the bowl season.

Obviously losing MM hurt UCF big time, the freshman is doing well, but to me the big thing that will make UCF lose big time is LSU rewatching the Auburn vs UCF game from last year. I have a hard time believing that LSU will go into this game taking UCF lightly. I just don't think Mack, as a freshman will be able to handle LSU's defense. I have been wrong before but I just see the end of UCF's winning steak.

Am I reading this right? Texas is in the sugar bowl after losing 4 games?

Pretty amazing, right? Not quite sure how that happened. I guess just because of the name.....TEXAS! and, they travel well, so $$$

Try as I might just can't get to excited about the bowls or even the playoff games this year. Without the Huskers in a bowl it GREATLY dimishes my interest in all bowl games.

Oh well IMO we'll be in a bowl next season for sure..... GBR!

Interesting, because I'm far more interested in the other 2 match-up's (LSU/UCF & Georgia/Texas).
