Bit of a shock?
Maybe not, if he is leaving "late this summer" like his letter suggests. That’ll delay the basketball hiring a bit
As long as they let a guy sign off that is leaving I suppose. I wouldn’t tho.Maybe not, if he is leaving "late this summer" like his letter suggests.
When I read his resignation letter it seemed to me he was leaving due to burn out. Now with your note of him possibly being a micro manager it would make sense as that seems to be one of the fast tracks to burnout.Wow! Was just told this weekend by a friend that Bounds was not well liked as he was a micro manager and people were getting tired of his act. With that being said I hear really good things about Chancellor Ronnie Green. I'm curious with the departure of Bounds if some of the Moos rumblings quiet down.

He wasn’t giving a blessing one way or the other. He was giving a signature. A contract this size has to be signed by the President.I'm not downplaying the importance of a basketball coach, but in a university system the size of Nebraska, with 4 locations and dealing with the academic/business side of it, I don't see why getting a President's blessing, who won't be in the mix for probably a year, is all that important for something that's pretty far down the ladder in the scope of things.
I'd also feel that there is a reason you have Green and Moos making the kind of salaries they make. Unless you are trying to hire someone with a horrible past, like Pitino, I don't see the need for a blessing.
