I want to thank the fans and news media for the kind words lately. Poorly thought out words and the desire for news scoops can cause things to spiral out of control.

Greatest fans in college football. I'm beginning to wonder?

I wish Bookie the best and hope his decision brings him back to Nebraska.

GBR!
Moos is doing the exact same thing that Eichorst did with Bo... Waiting until the end of the season.... At the End he had to "evaluate where Iowa was" You still don't get it do you?

Unfortunately it will also make it easier for the other high profile recruits in the class to decommit now that Bookie broke the ice. The ship is sinking and the others will see it is time to jump off.

I wish him the best of luck but this was anticipated.

This will not be the last decommit this week. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the ice berg or glacier.

Unfortunate. But part of college football. Even if it was announced today that Riley would be here next year, the images on the field of play are not encouraging to anyone, including recruits. Hopefully, if a change is made, a good chunk of the class can be salvaged. We’ve been through this before.

I am very concerned that the majority of the elite talent in this class will have decommitted by the time the “decision” has been publicly made. It will be too late to get most of them back in the fold.

That is the reality that Nebraska is dealing with and yes...it stinks.

It stinks to lose him, but it's not surprising. We knew the team had to win at a certain level in order to keep the class together and build on it. It's frustrating, but firing Riley right now will not help one bit. The only way it could be of any benefit is if we were hiring someone not currently coaching (like Chip Kelly), which seems like a long shot. Frost, Campbell, the Penn State OC or any other possible candidate is going to rightly focus on their current seasons. This is most likely just the beginning of the defections.

I have been reading post of late and have wondered how the effect of fan input on giving up on MR would translate in current recruits and now it is quite evident. Maybe we should all take a pause and consider our responsibility of being the greatest fans.

Are you saying the fans should have sat quietly while the debacle of the 2017 season was unfolding? Fans have the right to voice concern about a program they are passionate about that is struggling to simply win games against average programs.

I agree. I wonder what % of his decision was based on how the team looked.

I think I will just listen to some music and relax, not a darn thing I can do about it.

Pissin' IN The Wind by Jerry Jeff Walker is first up.

Do you think he is basing this decision on message board posters, or on the 4-4 record combined with the coach’s boss getting fired mid season?
