He was always a hoot. I sure do miss all of the complaining about his habit of only winning 9 or 10 games each year.

I like Bo, he was a good coach. But he’d have bottomed out here just like he did at Youngstown. It’s the hiring Mike Riley that makes Bo’s firing seem so baffling.
During Bo's time as head coach, we played 25 teams that were in the top 25, six of those teams being in the top 10.
Bo coached during the low point in the Big Ten - this was Michigan's Rich Rod years, OSU was hit by Tattoo gate, and PSU got Sanduskied. We were also in the far weaker division.
2011: Ranked Games (regular season): Wisconsin, #7. Lost 17-48
Michigan State, #9. Won 24-3
Penn State, #12. Won 17-14
Michigan, #20. Lost 17-45
End Of Year: Wisconsin and Michigan State were our opponents to finish ranked (10 and 11)
2012: Ranked Games: Ohio State, #12. Lost 38-63
Michigan, #20. Won 23-9
NOTE: Wisconsin was unranked for the conf. title game.
OSU, Northwestern, and Michigan finished the year ranked (3, 17, and 24)
2013: Ranked Games: MSU, #14. Lost 28-41
UCLA, #16, Lost 21-41
MSU and UCLA finished the year ranked (3, 17)
2014: Ranked Games:
MSU, #10. Lost 22-27
Wisconsin, #22. Lost 24-59 (Melvin Gordon!)
MSU and Wis finished the year ranked (8 and 18).
So, in Bo's last four years, in the regular season he played 10 ranked opponents, going 3-7 in those games. In those years he played 9 teams that finished the year ranked.

Disagree with this statement.
He was disenfranchised down the stretch … he called out his AD, he called out the fan base, he told his players to transfer.
He was a petulant child. His own brother left the program.
Yeah I wish we’d be at a level to complain about winning just 9 or 10 games but Pelini’s recruiting wasn’t good. He won largely with Callahans recruits (Ndamukong Suh?).
Yes, his players loved him, to the end … but there’s a reason he isn’t coaching anymore.
His AD was a doosh bag. Should have been called out.
3-7. What's our record against ranked teams since?
One of the contributors to our downfall was (and I don't necessarily blame Bo for this; it was just a tragic occurrence) --
During Bo's tenure, we went from a physical, power team to a finesse team that was more focused on passing. This is because the B12 had become a glorified 7-on-7 league, following the lead of Texas Tech and the Texas HS trend. So we "adapted."
Then, just as our physicality was effectively neutered, we joined the B1G, which was a historically physical league (though not as talented as the B12 or SEC). And we got embarrassed on the national stage as a result. Still trying to recover.
Awful. I'm not saying he was worse that what we've had since. I'm just saying that his 9 win streak was greatly aided by an easy schedule.
By the end of 2012 Bo hated being here and coaching us; he was operating on pure spite. He hate the spotlight (fans), the media, and the administration. And unfortunately for him, the coach at a major program is always going to be in the spotlight and his actions ensured the media was going to pay attention. His tenure was going to come to an ugly end, it was just a matter of when. Could have we kept him for another season or two and waited for the on field implosion? Sure. But, it was coming.
The true screw up was Mike Riley. That made zero sense.
