Fair enough my friend. Was just wondering if maybe I missed something. The book sounds like it’s not real for sure
Currently reading it on my Kindle. It's real. I haven't gotten anywhere near Chapter 13, "There's No Place Like Nebraska" yet though.

He did hire the guy his bosses told him but it wasn’t the easy path as you insinuated. Getting Frost hired was more work than Kelly and more work than Kelly would have been after they started.lol, read what you just wrote. by definition, that's the easy path, isn't it? he didn't do what he knew was right, he did what his bosses wanted. the fact that he then had to convince the guy he knew wasn't ready only makes it worse.
What led you to believe Frost didn't want to come here? If that's true, Frost is more culpable than Moos. Who takes a job they don't want? A deadbeat, that's who.I dont think it would have been that hard not to hire Frost! I was never convinced Frost really deep down wanted to come here!
The more interesting revelation from Moos book is that Frost was given an extension without Moos’ knowledge, from Ronnie Green.
Just the impression i got! Probably unfoundedWhat led you to believe Frost didn't want to come here? If that's true, Frost is more culpable than Moos. Who takes a job they don't want? A deadbeat, that's who.
You’re not wrong but I just don’t think it’s that simple. There was enormous pressure on Moos to get Frost. Not just from fans either, the people Moos reported to almost certainly demanded Frost be the guy as well. I guess I’m just not going to go so far as to question Moos’ courage or character on this. He absolutely had to hire Frost, that was the directive he was given and he got that done.I do get that. I can imagine Pelini having a bad interview where someone would say he's qualified, but maybe not a fit here, then hiring him based on other factors.
in my opinion, based on the book, this wasn't just a bad interview, but an interview that demonstrated unfitness for the job to two people. A lack of ability to lead the football program as head coach. I could never see myself hiring a person, no matter what others said, that I felt couldn't do the job I needed him for.
Bill was out working cattle that day.The more interesting revelation from Moos book is that Frost was given an extension without Moos’ knowledge, from Ronnie Green.
Yep, people should listen to Moos' interview with Early Break on the Ticket yesterday. The more interesting revelation from Moos book is that Frost was given an extension without Moos’ knowledge, from Ronnie Green.
Sorry, but I just don't see that convincing Frost to come was harder than standing up to your boss. It took more time, maybe, and was garder than hiring Kelley, okay, but Moos wasn't a Jr level hire. He was the AD. The hard thing would have been to stand up to your boss and say he isn't ready and I'm not hiring him if that's what he believed. He did hire the guy his bosses told him but it wasn’t the easy path as you insinuated. Getting Frost hired was more work than Kelly and more work than Kelly would have been after they started.
Perfectly okay, I just don't agree. You’re not wrong but I just don’t think it’s that simple. There was enormous pressure on Moos to get Frost.
