Big Ten Wrestling

Need to win some semis to get back into the race. It is tight at the top.

Thanks for the updates @BGRed

Man, is it just me, or does Chad seem to lose matches to lesser opponents a lot, well at least in the BIG+ and NCAAs

#165: #8 Wilson upsets #5 Fish, 5-2. Will wrestle a semifinal loser and finish no lower than 6th.

Oh My. Lovett gets caught in a double-underhook and pinned in 25 seconds.

#5 Robb loses to #1 Deakin (NW), 5-3. Because of a prior upset, he'll face #2 Young (Iowa) tomorrow. Will finish no lower than 6th.

#6 Lance loses to #9 Luffman (Ill), 4-2. Will wrestle #8 Omdorff (OSU) for 7th tomorrow.

174: #3 Labriola loses a good one to #2 Massa (Mich), 6-5.

He'll wrestle #5 Smith (OSU) tomorrow and finish no lower than 6th.

184: #4 Venz loses to #1 Brooks (Penn St), 7-2.

He'll wrestle #12 Braunagel (Illinois) and finish no lower than 6th. (I should have been noting that the 'no lower than 6th' means that they can get as high as 3rd and no lower than 6th.

There will be a consolation semifinal tomorrow. Win that and you wrestle for 3rd. Lose it and you wrestle for 5th.

197: #1 Schulz wins 3-2 over #5 Brucki (Mich). He will wrestle #2 Dean (Penn State) for the title tomorrow.

Really not a great evening session for the Huskers. Summary coming.

Really happy with the way Wilson is wrestling. But not so much with Red, Reno and Serano.

Reno and Serrano wrestled to their seeds. I think Serrano is still wrestling in the "9th place" bracket. Red is the one who makes me scratch my head...was he hurt or had been sick?

We have six guys seeded #3-#6. Would have been nice to see one of them get into the finals, but almost all finals are #1 vs #2 for a reason. Hope they come out fired up in this morning's session.
