Huskers lit up the scoreboard against Northwestern, winning 98-77 behind 30 points from Markowski and team FG% over 60% at halftime and 53% overall.

It ends up as an 10-seed and facing 15-seed Rutgers around 6 PM Eastern Time Wednesday night. Would face #7 seed Illinois at 6:30 PM Eastern on Thursday with an opening round win. I'll be at the full tournament with my Hawkeye wife. Looks like late nights to watch her Hawkeyes, but at least our teams will be playing back-to-back.

This bracket probably gives our ladies the best shot at a couple wins. I’m of the opinion that playing day 1 is a positive for them. There is enough depth to deal with it now that Prince is back. Winning beyond day 2 is unlikely, but getting to day 3 would be great.

Huskers win 84-60

I am at the games, it was a solid win; but, still some significant scoring droughts. Offensive rebounding was heavy in Rutgers favor, but Rutgers missed a LOT of shots. Nebraska FT% was below 50%...that will need to be better.

Tonight's game against Illinois will tip at 5:30 pm Central time. It is the first game of the session, so 5:30 is a definite time.

Nebraska trailed by 7 going into the 4th quarter and I was thinking the game was about to get away from the Huskers. A gritty final quarter that slowly turned Nebraska's way. It seemed the Husker surge came with Prince on the bench...looking at game notes on huskers.com, Prince was subbed out at the 7:45 mark trailing by 8. She came back in at 4:49 trailing by 2. I had commented to my wife at the time that Prince just seemed to be trying to do a little too much and the teammates were waiting for her to do something. After she left the floor, everyone stepped up to claw back into the game. Not saying Prince shouldn't be out there...she hit two back-to-back jumpers that tied the game with 2:23, right before Petrie's massive 3 at 1:40 that gave the Huskers a lead they wouldn't give up. Prince then hit clutch free throws down the stretch (and committed a silly foul on a 3 point try while up 7 and only 3 seconds on the clock).

It's going to be tough tonight against UCLA...

Iowa had a similar game last night -- down 7 going into the fourth and played a gritty 4th quarter to upset Michigan State. I'm attending the tournament with my Hawkeye wife, so two comeback wins last night was an exciting end to the day. If there are somehow two more wins tonight, I'd relish a semifinal against Iowa...
