Big Red Wrap Up

Last night on BRWU it was brought up that Dannen is possibly a candidate for ISU's AD position. I had heard nothing about that and no one seemed to be too concerned. They did mention that both he and his wife were from Iowa but going to Iowa State would be a step down.

NIL : Huskers > Clones
Athletic Budget: Huskers > Clones
Conf. : Huskers > Clones
Homegrown turf: Huskers < Clones
National Fan Base: Huskers > Clones
AD Pay: Huskers> Clones
Program history Huskers > Clones
Number of teams competing at a national level: Huskers > Clones

Unless the home draw is huge or someting is going on behind the scenes that he is no longer wanted, I see nothing that sends him to Iowa State

One possibility... Dannen was brought in to make tough choices and be the bad guy. He'd get paid a lot of money to make controversial but (probably) necessary decisions to maximize revenue and set the department up for success in the NIL era. This met selling beer. Eliminating seats in Memorial stadium, and charging more for those that remain. Reseating Devaney and Memorial. Upping seat license fees.

Per KFAB this morning Troy Dannen told someone with the Des Moines Regeter late yesterday that he is not and will not be a candidate for the open AD Job at Iowa State.

I didn't check the Register website because it's behind a paywall.

So that should clear things up; I guess he is moving on! ;)
