What makes it even better is weekly grading and corrections in season. If they’re full time employees they need to be held accountable like full time employees in other lines of work.

What it won’t fix is the baked in bias and preferentially treatment teams like Ohio State, Michigan, etc. get. Short of crap canning the lot of them (which I am in favor of) I don’t know how you fix that.

Only for subjective stuff like ball placement, forward progress, boundaries/goals, # of players on field, offsides and false starts, clock management, intentional grounding, that kind of thing.

Still need humans to sort out PI, USC, receptions/incompletes, holds, targeting, and other subjective things, with and without use of replay.

But once the humans are not tasked with having to keep track of all the objective nuts and bolts, perhaps they will be better at what is left since that's all they'll be tasked with watching.

Paying guys $2k/game means we get half"donkey" refs and not a good supply of replacements. If you paid $100k starting, you could attract tons of football people (high school coaches would jump at this IMO).

We would still have to find a way to keep them from being bought by the highest bidder for each game.

yep, but if I was a QB and looking to up my pro draft status

I wouldn't be happy with my receivers being mugged,
not good for. the stats
