Big 10 Refs

Anyone want to bet the Big 10 refs called this game too? (If you didn't see this, two refs missed this blatant facemask completely.)

Big 10 refs need a primer!

You knew it was going to be a long day when they over turned the long pass early to #18 and when they showed the review there was clear pass interference (DB pulling long and hard on 18's jersey) which the ref, who was not five yards away, looking directly at the play, did not call :(.

I kind of chuckled because the TNF crew after the game said that the refs should have come together to “chat” after that play with the Referee telling the other guys to “look at the replay on the big screen without looking“ to see what the replay looked like and throw a penalty flag based off of that.

Not sure why quick replay couldn’t buzz down and say throw a flag.

Having said that … I’m glad Vikings lost.

It's Ohio State and they get the calls. My dentist went to Michigan and we share the same frustrations.

Refs are human, they definitely have bias or preconceived opinions going into games. I would say they discuss these opinions in the lockerroom before games. Definitely influences calls.

There's a difference between biased and corrupt.

What we just witnessed was akin to the 2010 Texas A&M game.
I didn't turn on the game until the very end of the 3rd quarter and in the time I watched I saw at least 5 holds, a false start, and an offsides for OSU that weren't called. Removing the targetting call (which you have to make) OSU had 2 penalties for 21 yards, which is absolute horse hockey.

They were literally holding every play. And I'm not talking ticky tack stuff, I mean wrapping up our defenders from behind.

That white hat... As soon as I saw his face, I knew what was going on. That dude has screwed us out of more games than I can count. He needs to be investigated.

I don't understand how we can be on the short end of the refereeing stick every game since we joined the B1G. That can't be coincidence.

21 straight games without a holding call is no coincidence either.

I've been saying it for years and usually get eye rolls for it, but there is absolutely a bias in the Big 10 officiating corps towards NU. Why? I can only guess. But the bias is absolutely there, and you saw it on full display today.
