Bedlam Could Be Revived

I'm putting this in Other Teams, but I'm going to bring up the Huskers/Sooners too.

According to Oklahoma's AD Roger Denny, if the CFP expands and there's "more clarity" on how SOS will be used to determine playoff seeding, he's not opposed to reviving Bedlam.

Playing UT and OSU every year is going to be more important for Oklahoma than playing Nebraska. But, if the SOS metrics are done in such a way that playing more P4 OOC games doesn't hurt the possibility of OU getting into the CFP, do you think OU would have much (if any) interest in reviving the Nebraska/OU series?

I know many peiople may say Nebraska sould revive the yearly NU/CU game. I just dislike that team, the HC and (most of) the fanbase so much, I'd prefer playing OU every year again even if the Huskers don't have "the Jimmy's and the Joes" to compete with OU.

Either CU or OU would be nice to revive. My personal choice with no outside factors would be OU, but reality tells me there is a much higher chance that it would happen with CU

I agree on OU and/or CU. I loved the atmosphere in Lincoln for the 2024 CU game…simply electric especially in the 1st half.

I wouldn’t mind seeing KSU, KU, and Missouri mixed in occasionally. Quick drives for the fanbase. Playing the games at Arrowhead or eventually the new Chiefs domed stadium would be fun. Though I would like the games to be on campus more times than not.

If we never play a team from the old Big 8 again, it'll be too soon.

Isn't Tulsa on the schedule a more competitive game for OSU? Maybe they could win the rubber match this year before thinking about OU.

Perhaps.

Just as a reminder, OSU took two of the last three against OU, including the final meeting. It's an Oklahoma thing. Two thirds of Oklahoma are Sooners fans. One third are Pokes fans. They like to play each other in all sports, and it's a pretty big deal, what can I say.

Being from Florida, having lived in Oklahoma, I'd LOVE an OU-NU annually scheduled football game.
That is one game that should have never gone away. I get the Texas v Oklahoma rivalry, but come on, Oklahoma v Nebraska was an awesome game.

Why is that? I remember a ton of good games against most of those schools.

My guess is near the end of Nebraska’s time in the Big 12, the other longstanding members sided with Texas in many of the conference decisions/votes. Many fans have not forgotten this which is understandable. I was one of them and it didn’t matter what happened to the Big 12 after Nebraska left.

For me, those feelings have subsided and I would like to see the schools compete against each other. I could be wrong but I believe Nebraska has played former Big 12 schools in several non revenue sports such as baseball. I know Nebraska recently played KSU in basketball in Kansas City.

I would like to see some football games between the schools but as we know it can be more challenging to schedule these games.

Football has played Oklahoma and Colorado lately I myself would rather spread the games out between old foes it's time to play Mizzou, Kansas and KSU especially for recruiting purposes in the 500 mile area. Iowa State makes no sense as we already play Iowa every year.

I would also like to play some teams we don't normally play out of conference like a home and home series with maybe a

Kentucky SEC
Vanderbilt SEC
Georgia Tech ACC
Clemson ACC
Florida State ACC
TCU BIG 12
SMU ACC
My reasoning is these are recruiting areas and to play a game in the Southeast, Texas and
" other than Kentucky and Clemson "
all are in large metro areas which would be fun easy weekend trips for fans
