Bear Attacks

I encountered a black bear in a campground late one night. I was urgently headed to the toilet and he was trying to get into a dumpster adjacent to the men's toilet. I approached while banging a dish pan with a rock. When I heard him breathing we reached a compromise. He got the dumpster and I got the women's toilet next door.
Black bears are plentiful in my state (Minnesota). The thing i have learned is they don't like dogs. My beautiful red lab (I had to put her down in October, sad to say) ran one out of our campsite last summer. She was so proud of herself it brings a tear to my eye thinking about it.
