Would have been really dependable if things worked out with him in Lincoln. He basically had an identical first year to Drew Brown who went on to become a multi-year all-conference selection.

Was he pushed to medically retire? Or did he willingly do it and now feels better.

It was probably his own-doing to start the ball rolling, but he and the staff didn't see eye to eye. If they could have reconciled their differences we win one or two more games last year.
Just curious if you know what the eye to eye problem was?
Agree,but in many cases, it does give kids a better chance of getting playing time.

Hopefully Culp is a decent replacement. Pickering went 3-5 and never missed an extra point in the 4 games he played last year. Single handedly won us the Michigan State blizzard game 2 years ago.
Maybe the coaches wanted the ball to go between the uprights more.
I remember that game. He won it for us.
Including a career long on the game winner. I had every confidence he was going to make that kick.
