I guess you can call viewing the northern lights a hobby and/or entertainment. For those in below area of green, if the sky is clear step outside and look up. You might see the northern lights. Viewing area includes Nebraska. KP7 forecasted, which is pretty strong.

I'm in the heavy viewing zone. Read about the ejection a day or so ago. Hoping for clear skies, we get them alot up here but big ones covering the entire sky are something very worthwhile out of the ordinary

We are going to be buried in clouds and snow, but I get to see these all the time. This one might be special so I am sorry I will likely miss it.

We're in south central Nebraska about on the line between white and gold. It's within the outer green circle so does that mean we have a chance but it's very low?

Basically the areas under the solid green, the probability is high of northern lights happening and they should be directly overhead or north.

The areas north of the green line going through Oklahoma it is still possible to see them, but the probability isn't as high. They might be low in the northern horizon. The moon is pretty full which could hurt viewing pleasure. However, being close or in a city in addition to the moon, this reduces viewing opportunities. Hard to predict when they will be out, but in the link that I provided you will see the globe on the far right of the webpage, and where the aurora borealis is currently active will be in green. On my computer screen the globe is to the right of the 27 day forecast graph.
