Atrocious Clock Management…Again!

If they don’t complete that last pass and/or he gets tackled before the end zone … time runs out.

Although I think the clock management fell more onto AC who certainly took his sweet time as the clock was running down.
Football is risk reward. We took the risk and got a perfect reward. TD 2 seconds left. Squib kick time runs out.

The bigger the risk the greater the reward. Did you yell at TO after the Orange bowl?. Kick a point after we probably win the NC. He took a great risk. He lost but gained respect. Give me the risk. That is how big wins happen.

There were 2 seconds left after the play was over and we had a timeout. Pretty good clock management by any rational metric.
What good does a timeout do with 2 seconds left if we don’t score? If he goes out of bounds we either settle for the fg or have one shot at a td, and we go to the locker room still having the TO. I think we got very fortunate to get the td there to make it moot, but definitely could have been handled better. It’s also not all on Rhule, AC could have handled that a lot better too.

They ran 2 plays in 48 seconds.

Without the benefit of hindsight, when Colandrea gets up from the turf making it 3rd and 1 at the 16 yd line and 50 seconds left, you expect the team to quickly get the 1st down and manage the clock so they can take 3 shots at the end zone before settling for FG if needed. They had time for only one plus a TO for the FG had they needed it.

It wasn’t great clock management but it worked out.

Yeah but aren’t the plays and directives coming to the QB from the sideline via his headset? I doubt it was all on AC.
Whoever is at fault, it's Rhule's job to get it straightened out. I don't think it's currently a priority for him.
