Any updates on Dylan? Update Coach says Good to go

Just wondering I had read that he would try to practice on Tuesday but since then there has Silence. Which is understandable and makes sense to make USC practice for two QB's and with Holgorsen calling plays it makes USC defense have to Guess even more what's coming

"Last week, Rhule stated that Raiola’s injury was a “contusion to his back and to his spine, which led to spasming.” He stated at the time that if Nebraska were to play this past weekend, Raiola would have been questionable.

A week off might have been enough for Raiola to recover, but if he can't go, it'll be on Heinrich Haarberg, with a new play caller, to lead Nebraska's offense on the road against USC on Saturday."

"It’s just a possibility, we’re getting him, Danny (Kaelin) and Heinrich (Haarberg) all ready," said Rhule. We practiced last night, not much of a practice, I’ll know after Tuesday practice if he can play or not."

"Will Raiola play against USC? It remains to be seen. Official availability reports are released by the Big Ten two hours before the game. Nebraska vs. USC will kick off at 1 p.m. PT on FOX."

So with Coach Rhule saying Dylan is good to go for USC and with Dana calling plays I really believe part of the focus will be to just get the ball out of Dylan's hands quickly to protect him this in turn will give him less reads and help build confidence again. Don't be surprised to see a screen pass actually work in this game ;)

The screens haven't worked primarily because we aren't blocking well. I don't expect that to change.

Oh I agree!! we have run several screens and it just seems like they all look just alike no variety and Dana has shown in the past a variety of screens including inside screens / tunnel screens. Maybe I'm just optimistic but I can see a screen or two working it only takes one big play to open things up for our deep threats

If Rhule’s statement about the current position coaches continuing in their previous roles, unless Holgorsen got in the weeds with the WR room this week, I don’t see how it could change. I don’t doubt for a second that he made suggestions to that group from a route running and blocking perspective, but I don’t know how much different they’ll look on those fronts. I suspect we’ll just see a pretty different cadence and sequencing to the play calling this week.

Focus on what we do well and do that until they take it away.

I tend to agree, but then we are at the time when red shirts can play, and we've had two weeks to see if anyone wants to put more effort into blocking for screen passes. So maybe see if a personal change on the outside might help, at least once or twice.

When is the last time you saw a screen pass to a RB? It’s been a minute. What NU has been doing, is throwing stupid bubble screens to the WR. Hell, even if you have good blocking, the play can easily break down. Even good teams often struggle with that silly play. I can’t stand that play. It would not be in my playbook, if I had one.

A well designed screen, has WR taking DB’s deep down field, and linemen who know how to set it up. NU doesn’t do any of that really. I mean, I’ve seen a few over the last two years, but I’ve seen 50 bubble screens working at a 7% clip. It’s mostly, a wasted play. Why use it? It’s also a play asking for a pick 6, if a DB is all over it.

This is what I wanted to say earlier all we run are bubble screens!! lets try a different screen play or even a wheel route to the RB
