Any Porsche owners here?

I'm getting the itch for a toy. I was stuck on Austin Healeys because of the incredible lines, but the things are too small for a 6'4 fellow. I've had 4 Ferraris - a 308, two 348s, and a 360. Enjoyed all of them, but you have to think two or three times if you want to drive it because all three are like getting in and out of a race car. Driving one is about the same. My wife tried all of them and said "nope...too much of an ordeal and I can't see out."

So...I'm on to other possibilities. Considering a Ferrari California T, but I don't like the attention that a Ferrari draws - I'm over all that. So now I'm turning to Porsche. Perhaps a 2007-2011 911 Targa. Or another option is a 987.2 Boxster Spyder. I'm keen on this one because less than 1,000 came to the States, and it has collector value. They are going up in price.

Any Porsche enthusiasts care to chime in?

I'm a pickup truck type of guy. Like many Nebraska men. I bought a BOSS 302 mustang in 2017. 444 hp but I realized in order to have any fun with it I had to drive at least 100mph so it was a ticket waiting to happen. Plus the tires were racing tires and I live in the northern plains so they were useless in snow. I could only drive it for 5 months a year. I did however get to make payments on it for 12 months of the year so...lucky me. Sold it to a guy in Wisconsin for more than I paid for it.

I never had any desire to have a Porsche.
Thought they are over rated and thought it was a gay thing.
Not that there is anything wrong with that..

Not a big fan of Porsches look but my car geek friends say there is nothing like them. One of my friends sold his Porsche so he could buy a Maserati and he said the Porsche is so much better.

What is shocking is how dreadful a Maserati holds its value. You can buy one a few years old for the mid $30s. The problem is, it has a Ferrari engine that needs a $10K service every now and again.

This is a lot of car for $37K.

I had a 2013 981S Boxter for a while and it was incredible. 350 hp Flat 6 would go from 0-100 in a blink of the eye. Top speed was supposed to be 180mph but I never got close to that.
At times it was a little scary because it felt like it wanted to fly and I’m pretty sure it could have with some pop out wings.

I really hated the 987s look overall but the Spyder really was nice. I was searching for one of those when the third generation 981s were announced and I instantly fell in love with those.

The Spyders are super rare and skyrocketing in price as a result. If there's a non-Ferrari investment sports car, that one is it. I was thinking about getting in the game but I'm back to leaning toward a 50's Austin Healey roaster.
