Alabama

Again, the argument more likely comes down to a really good 3-loss team vs. a so-so 2-loss one.
Agreed but I can see a similar thing to last season … Alabama getting in over undefeated FSU due to the “eye test”.

If Alabama has 3-losses and I were a 2-loss B1G team … I am going to be really nervous because Alabama is probably going to get in over me simply because they’re “Alabama”.

No doubt. It's why I don't like "eye test" being apart of the criteria. Discredits play on the field to go, "well, this team just has more talent to be able to win in the playoff." If that's how they want to do things, skip the regular season altogether and let's play the playoff after National Signing Day.

Ordinarily I'd say playing a team like Mercer should automatically count as a loss to one's record, but this year the Mercer Bears are currently 5-0, so maybe we'll just let this one play out....lol
Not a chance, Pal.

College football upsets:

Vanderbilt 40, No. 2 Alabama 35

Arkansas 19, No. 4 Tennessee 14

No. 21 Texas A&M 41, No. 9 Missouri 10

Washington 27, No. 10 Michigan 17

Minnesota 24, No. 15 USC 17

About time for us to upset a ranked team, no?

(Cough Indiana cough)

I was watching this game, along with the NU game. It was fun watching it. Scheme, and will, won this game. Vandy blocked them. That simple. They ran a lot of misdirection, and were able to get at them, with a well executed mix. They ran some option football, and it messed with them. They hit some timely passes, due to having them confused. Well coached team. These aren’t your daddies Commodores.

Alabama will get the brand power bump. People will write off the Vandy loss, unless they look really bad in a few of these other games. If you finish with only two losses, you are probably in the CFP. There might be a three loss team that can sneak in. The Georgia win is going to help Bama a lot, but they also really need to beat Tennessee. If they lose to them, they probably stay in the playoff but fall down toward the bubble.
I said before the season Alabama would lose at least 3 games. They still have some tough games ahead. It’s a tough transition. DeBoer has already reiterated what I already knew. He’s a really good coach. I didn’t expect Milroe to pass this well. He’s been coached. That said, this is still a big transition. Only place for them to go was down.

Biggest concern to me for them would be defense. Too many talented teams to expect to win a shoot out each week. South Carolina game didn't soothe any of those Bama fan's nerves I'm sure.

Part of that, is a reflection of the style of offense. He’s never seemingly cared about defense. Just go score.

Yes, and that is one of the big shifts from a coach who was the opposite. Makes you wonder what Bama will look like in a few years after all of Saban's players are gone. Is Bama going to become a 2000s Oklahoma State/Texas Tech, beat us in a shootout type team?
