Adding to the Dana thread

The same guy who told me Dana was going to be announced as OC told me at the time a few families were going to be unhappy but it would be good for Nebraska. Assuming other coaches are getting fired. He wouldn’t be specific but assuming by the word few I’m guessing Satt, Maguire, and either Foley or RB coach.

Yeah, “a few” typically refers to three… I’d been okay (if not happier) if they’d said “several”. ;)

But as we often say, three is better than zero.

You have to wonder if Thomas stays. It's not that he's a bad coach but more you'd think he sees himself getting passed over for DH and thinking maybe he should move on if something comes up.

When Thomas came here, I almost felt like it was a temporary thing to help Satterfield and work with Raiola. It didn't strike me as Thomas being a long term thing.
 
Maguire seems like a perfect candidate to keep as an analyst. Really young guy who seemed to do pretty well for honestly being put in over his head. By all accounts a good recruiter. Needs more time to soak things up at a place like NU.

But Holgorsen should structure things however he wants. He's definitely earned that based on his experience and prior results.

I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have taken the job if he wasn’t given the latitude to structure his offensive staff the way he wants it.

Is DH going to coach the QBs? I didn't see anything in the announcement about him being named OC. When he was OC at Okie State and Houston he was also the QB coach.

Sound's like he will and it makes sense having a clear message and communication with the QB's easier coming straight from Dana himself

I suspect some that may be what went on behind the scenes the last three weeks. Did DH spend time with Raiola and if so was Thomas good with that.
