A very fair, national take (video)

Worth the watch.

When you play a game with no other games to distract attention, a lot of people saw it, and the opinions are everywhere now. It was the #1 story of the college football weekend.

Pretty difficult debating this take.

Thanks for sharing, that’s a really good take. No reason we can’t get to the level of the Iowas and Wisconsins of the football world. We’re just probably going to have to hope that the next coach is the one to get us there……

All too often, these storybook deals don't work out as intended. Texas Tech recently went through that with favorite son Kliff Kingsbury. And Kliff won a whole bunch more games at Tech than Frost has done at NU.

This is going to end whenever NU decides it has the cash to buy him out. No way around it.

Pate's take actually got me thinking (especially his take on feeling that Frost was our savior, and that... "It's okay... move on to the next guy... don't quit")... I wonder where we are at with the 7 stages of grief/loss:
  1. Shock and denial.
  2. Pain and guilt.
  3. Anger and bargaining.
  4. Depression.
  5. The upward turn.
  6. Reconstruction and working through.
  7. Acceptance and hope.
We're stuck at #4. :(

It wasn't that long ago, I was leaving Memorial Stadium after watching Iowa paste my Huskers 56-14 after Riley's last game. Hoping Scott Frost would come back to Lincoln to rescue our program.

How naive can a guy be?
I admit now, I never liked his deflection to bad culture. It may have been true, but you don't fix it by dragging your players through the mud.

That was really good. I thought it was a very educated view point from someone that is not from Nebraska. I'm still hoping for the best for Frost and Staff but I don't have a good feeling for how this is going to end. It's hard to continue to see us get out coached in most phases of the game. Been hearing way to many behind the scenes stories about SF around Lincoln. Hoping they aren't true.

Well, that guy in HWM video had great points..

I still think Frost can do it, but serious changes need to happen. NOW, not next week, not at the end of the season... NOW

If it was me.. I am looking for a legit OC, the biggest name you can get and money should be no problem. I give part of my salary to get it done.

Changes will not happen. If things get turned around, it will be with this staff.

A leader should never feel compelled to openly blame others for his own struggles. Doesn't matter if it's valid or not.

In this case, Frost used that culture excuse for 3 years. Now he's gotten to the point where he can't use the excuse. Yet, he's still having the same problems he was having when he could use the excuse. As a result, you wonder just how valid that excuse was -- if at all.

That's the problem with excuse making -- it leaves you vulnerable to being exposed.
