A really good break down of the blocked punt and an indictment on the clear lack of attention paid to ST.

The problem I see is HCSF simply doesn't have the necessary experience doing all the things successful head coaches must do. It's not that he's stupid imo but without enough experience he's stumbling around in the dark bumping into walls. He should have been running the program at UCF for at least 5 or 6 years before taking on a job like Nebraska. He's really been OJT'ing as our HC for the past 4+ years which is why we find ourselves with so many basic unresolved issues. TA seems to be a good AD but he's NEVER been a HC of any size program. So how does TA really help SF succeed since he he doesn't have the required experience or knowledge imo?

I'll be very surprised that things get sorted out enough to make a big difference next season. That's not meant to put down SF but simply trying to be honest with myself. SF only chance is to hire a heavy hitter for his OC and some very good offensive position coaches. Then he's going to have to lean on them and take some much needed advice. Can he do that is the open question?

When you lack attention to detail like this it makes the mind set "something always goes wrong" much easier to take root.

This is why we always lose games. Small things are always noticed by opposing coaches. They are just too good with too much film not to notice. They will exploit the problem at the right time and then crush your spirit.

I mean folks wonder what all these "analysts" do... this is EXCATLY what they do. They look for cracks in the door that they can pry open.

I still hold firmly that we are close (I know some don't agree) and this attention to detail stuff can be fixed with some good leadership (Scott needs to put his big boy pants on).

It's clear we're close but with "small" problems like this we'll never get there. I don't know that Frost can learn in one year to fix these or hire someone to and TRUST them without being that micromanager that is only hurting the process.

I’ve felt for the last few years that it was less the offense or defense that was holding us back, but special teams. Take away about half the ST mistakes, plunders and we are bowling the last couple of years. Very frustratin.

The single most biggest issue outside offensive line is special teams. The quarterbacks are good enough to win and go bowling. If we don’t fix both those areas Frost will be gone.

It's unfathonable he's refused to adequately address the problem the past couple of years. I honestly don't get why he was so stubborn except perhaps he didn't want to fire an existing staff member to make room for a good ST coach? Obviously he's smart enough to see and understand what ST's has cost the team!

What if I told you that special teams is the symptom not the disease? I think it goes above that. It's attention to detail. It's having a system and process then developing the culture of the program so that same focus on the process is there. I remember laughing at Bo always talking about the process, but he was right. We drill attention to detail all the time at my work.

If Frost is going to be hiring new assistants to fix what ails Nebraska, what is he going to be doing. Just don't see him as a respected CEO/Manager.

Fantastic write-up on this.

The level incompetence is shocking....Trev if you or one of your interns is reading this... it should be brought up to Scott immediately.

Please pay what is necessary to bring Snyder in so crap like this does not ever happen again.

If Trev or an intern has to bring this up to Scott.

Then we have the wrong HC.

Again, this is why it is IMPERATIVE that he not just hire his buddies when he first comes here? I understand all the warm and fuzzies around him bringing the full UCF undefeated staff to Lincoln but he needed to go out and get coaching vets when he moved here. Proven coordinators could have easily helped solve a lot of these issues.

Indeed every word is true. Frost needs help just picking his OC. The punter needs to be dropped kicked out of Lincoln. That stupid punt would get a punter fired in the NFL.

Not to bring up something the coach already knows... it is to HAMMER home the fact that WE ALL KNOW too.. So no more of this gee shucks routine... "it is a specialist issue not something my coaches are not going over" etc.....

Scott needs to know that these screw ups are being seen and digested by ALL... Get your ish together SCOTT.
