A factor that keeps Nebraska irrelevant

2) Definitions:

My definition would be 3 or more starters and 7 of the 2-deep on the OLine come from recruits brought in by MR and company.

Additionally injury prevention particularly soft tissue injuries are an indicator of S&C/development.

Bigger, stronger and faster is indicator as well although at least from our fan perspective not readily available.

3) I think he has. I’ve been advocating for 2 years that a 2nd OLine coach was needed. To supplement if not supplant Raiola. Adding the two new OLine coaches are the two most important additions this coming season IMO.

I don't think there is any other school that can say they had that type of run over that period of time. The closest I can think of is probably Florida St. and they are 6-7 years behind that.

I think we still have fans that have the thought process that Minnesota, NW, Indiana and others are still teams that Nebraska should just have to show up and they will win handily, because that is what we did for so many years. It's not 1976, or 1986 or 1996 any more. Everybody has at least some money and everybody has good coaching. Every team is way better than they were in the 80's and 90's. It's just harder to win now, and Nebraska has had a hard time getting back to its winning ways. The team has basically been mismanaged for a long time. So getting everything going in the right direction is taking time.

I know everyone is saying Indiana did it in 2 years. They went from terrible to really good to NC in 2 years. That's an anomaly. Curt Cignetti is a guy that has been working to this moment for 40 years and finally some school gave him a shot. Nebraska never would have given him a shot. Just like all the other Blue Bloods never gave him a shot.

Do they even put the Kool Aid on the table anymore? Been awhile since I went near it. Been replaced with crab apple juice?

Starting the season by putting our coach on the hot seat, deserved or not.

Right now, I'm totally excited for a brand new season. Looking forward to what the new coaches and new talent will do to uplift our Huskers.

Can wait one more week before I join in on the negativity...hehe.

I agree. The facilities are so nice and I hope we have not gone soft.

I truly believe that mindset is in the heads of many players. You play for Nebraska, you are better than your opponent and will be able to beat them with less effort. i.e. 2025 Minnesota is just one example of many in the past 10 years.

How about we act like we are Rutgers, because we essentially are. No one respects us and how about we use that to develop the “WANT TO” that I think is needed to push us back to relevance?

I agree here too. Geep appears to the first capable OL coach we have had in forever. He is the biggest reason I have hope. The Nebraska formula used to be stout offensive, stud RB, and defense. I THOUGHT this was what Rhule was going to be. So far, good RB (Emmett), poor offensive line coaching and play, and a one-sided defense is where we are. Either we could stop the pass or run at an elite status, but not both. The offensive line play and coaching appear to be on the upswing. We need the defense to stop the run and pass equally well.
