But the poster you quoted has a valid point.
It took a LONG time for our program to sink to this level. And in all honesty, under TO's watch more has done to try to get this thing turned around.
The mob that runs from board to board trying to figure out who their latest candidate to fire that works for NU athletics will tell you that basketball is the "easiest" sport to turnaround. History would say otherwise.
You can do all the right things, and you still need a bit of luck.

I prefer to think Tom is telling the truth. You can talk with someone and gauge their interest without offering the job.
