5.5 Wins - Who is taking the Over Bet for Total Wins? Update: GEMINI

Will you Take the Over or Under the 5.5 Wins for Husker Football in 2026?

This is the first season under Rhule where I think our OL is going to be the best unit on the team, with QB right behind. He has the players and position coach in place to be really good there. I think we’ll be very good offensively.

Defensively I like that we have an identity again. But the entire season record hinges on whether or not we can hold our own on the DL. I don’t know if there’s a scheme on the planet that can be sound enough for getting pushed back three yards every play. We’ll see.

If we can hold up defensively I do think our offense will be better than most teams we face.

I guess you don’t remember our interactions when you were gone for awhile and I reached out.

I quoted a member saying that 7 wins was a low bar early in the thread and wanted to see his prediction based on his post…nothing more.

Is that fair enough?
I do remember. Yes, it’s fair. I’m probably in the minority, but I’ve been expecting immense growth of this team, more so than what we’ve seen. 7 wins just isn’t good enough this far in. I’ve just witnessed so many other teams sail past NU, while others have much more solid programs, and NU doesn’t. How did Bielema get Illinois to be better than NU in the same time frame? How? They were terrible, so was Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Kansas, and many others. I think it’s fair to expect more from a 4th year HC. This program should absolutely be further along than it is. Vegas obviously isn’t expecting much from NU. I’m not expecting much until I see it. I bought the jump last year and was dead wrong. Never again.

I'm your Huckleberry.

I'm expecting more this year than last.

Simply because I didn't understand how Holgorsen, Raiola's (Coach and player) we're going to mutate into a functional offense.

It went ok against weak competition.

Word out of Camp is OCDH is happy, HCMR is happy, and Colandrea blinks quickly and loves to play football.

Dude is the type of character I crave at QB.

I chose optimism.

Kansas was 5-7 the last two years and finished 10th and 11th in a inferior conference. Strike one.
Ga Tech has won about 66% of conference games the last 4 years. Basically returning to where they were from 2008-18 when they were 5-3 or better in an inferior conference 7 times. Strike two.
Vandy was 5-27 in conference (16-33 overall) up until last year when they rode a transfer QB to a fifth place conference finish.

You say you've been expecting "immense growth for this team" and yet you constantly post how MR is an inferior coach. Why would you expect such immense growth?? That sounds to me like a self inflicted result from inappropriate data analysis.

Kansas and Vanderbilt both were two of the worst teams in the power 4, along with Indiana. All 3 are better than Nebraska is right now, today. Georgia Tech won 5, 3, 3, 3 from 2019-2022. They were horrific. Vanderbilt was more than just a QB, if you were paying attention, which obviously you weren’t. Nebraska played an inferior schedule last year, but you conveniently left that part out, while bashing the other teams schedules in their conference. Take your sunshine, pumping garbage elsewhere, because that is what that nonsense was.

You want me to go down the list of programs who have flown past NU? It’s many more than just the few teams I listed. It’s not pretty. Yes, damn right, I do expect more. Truth be told, Nebraska is one of the most underachieving teams in the entire power 4 given their resources. They’ve constantly done less with more for years. Maybe untying the boat anchor that was the Raiola’s will help? Maybe cutting out that cancer will now allow them to get better? I’m hoping so.

I love how when you are called out that your examples are incredibly irrelevant and mostly false, you want to change the narrative. Then tell me to go elsewhere?? The constant negativity you insert into every thread on the board seems ill fitting for a Husker message board. So, if someone should move on, perhaps you haven't considered all your options.

So, i will probably stay here...and continue to call out your illogical and most often wrongly based narratives. I have to admit i kind of enjoy seeing how you try to pivot and change the course.

None of that is false chief. You are a yes man spin doctor. I never asked you to leave, just your nonsense spewing out of your mouth. Nebraska has been blown past by many programs, just since Rhule. We won’t even go over the ones who’ve blew past a decade+ ago.

With Campbell replacing Franklin at PSU and their (IMO) inevitable dip in conference standings as a result, now would be a good time to seize that #3 spot and work up from there. If Ferentz retires soon, it'll make that task easier.

But, if we don't make significant progress towards that goal this year, it will end up being a wasted opportunity.
Yes, except... Struggling to beat Ferentz is a sign that we're not where we need to be.

Poo-poo Ferentz all you like, but we have to start somewhere. Ferentz is .602 lifetime at Iowa and has shared the Big Ten title twice. We haven't had a coach with a comparable record since 2014 and we've never won a Big Ten title. NU is 4-11 vs. Iowa since joining the BIG. Frankly, he's out-coached us every year since Bo was fired.

And that's sad. I'm not giving up on Rhule by any means. But we all know how deep it cuts when we get beat by a team that uses our former formula against us. Not even "our" formula, but a cut rate version of it.

Win the trenches. Be the strongest team in Q4. It's not that difficult.

Terribly sorry, i guess i misinterpreted this little nugget from the previous post "Take your sunshine, pumping garbage elsewhere". Do you just get lost in the garbage you type and forget what you say? I can understand why, it is tough to remember what your argument is when you have to change it so often. You do realize you can look back at your previous posts to try to remain consistent, right?

Nebraska has been blown past by many programs just since Rhule? Seriously?? I guess you are now admitting how much you admired the previous coaching staff that put the NU football program in such a wonderful place? You don't have to say it explicitly to acknowledge how you feel. You have made it quite clear the program is now in a much worse spot than it was prior to the current head coach. I doubt many people on this board would agree with you in this regard.

Boy oh boy, not you, the garbage you posted. You know it was. The other guy is long gone. Rhule has been here awhile now. It’s not the other guys problem. Nebraska fired a guy for bringing 19-19, remember? I guess not.
