Is there a reason why we label all of our targets a 4*? None of our current commits are 4*, nor is Sorensen. You have to look at the composite score; you can't just pick one service and conveniently ignore the others, that's not how it works. I don't understand the need to exaggerate.

It all depends. Do the guys that do the rating know the overall talent level of a conference/district etc they play in?
Has one guy from a site spent more time watching a certain player?

None of that matters. You look at the composite average of the major recruiting services. You can't just say, "Oh, Rivals lists him as a 4* so we're go with that since it's the highest."

So they paint the local team in he best light? Thats up to us to know that going in isnt it?
 
Come on, man. It isn't that difficult. The recruiting services don't have a "local" team. This whole conspiracy theory some of you think exists against Nebraska is laughable.

Like all schools, they have assigned people to cover assigned areas, but theres always certain areas known better by some than others.
You could say Missouri for example, but St Louis and KC are very different as an example.
 
Regardless, you look at the composite. Every other school does that, and that's how the team rankings are tallied. I'm not saying these kids aren't solid players, but the need to exaggerate their rankings is embarrassing.

It's hype. Good part is, most are borderline and not diamonds in the rough maybes

The one thing I always do is when someone points out how we or another team is doing overall, I always look at the star ranking composite, eliminates class size out the gate.
