3 game suspension for the Urb

Nothing about his wife?

Like someone else said, I would respect this way more if they said, he did everything right no more punishment. But they just acknowledged he was wrong and basically let him go free because anyway. Whomever advised them on this course of action is an idiot.
That Question was addressed near the end of the Presser. That is why I posted it. Stop taking the MEDIA blurbs and listen to the ENTIRE presser.

As soon as they announced their own committee to investigate, Urb's job was safe. Just how many games would they suspend him for was all that remained to be determined. Faux Pelini got it right.

What did Faux say? I love that guy.

Something like Ohio State investigated Ohio State and decided they didn't want to ruin Ohio States season.

That is hilarious! Thanks for the laugh.

I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion...

We don't know all the details. We don't have all sides. Meyer probably did what just about anyone would have done with whatever information he had. It wouldn't surprise me if Ohio State felt that he didn't deserve a suspension at all, but that they needed to do something to avoid a full-on media crapstorm.

In hindsight Meyer could have done more, but I really don't think that he is the evil one here.

The villain is either Zach Smith (if he abused his wife) or Courtney Smith (if she has been lying about abuse).

I’d like to think the truth won out, and this is the appropriate punishment, but we will probably never know. B1G football is better with Urb in the mix.

This is sadly true. I'm going to trust - like you are - that truth is winning out here.

But yes, having a cadre of Meyer, Harbaugh, Dantonio, Franklin, and yes, Frost (!) is a very good thing for the conference. Better coaching = better teams = more wins = more exposure..... just keeps going.

I dont like Meyer at all, but if the police werent willing to do anything in 2015, what was Meyer to do at that point. ? I agree he should have cut loose the coach when he got to OSU, hindsight is 20/20 . Im pretty sure something very similiar could happen most anywhere, even here. Every school / athlet dept has some skeletons.

After the very first call Courtney Smith made to police, Urb sent his friend and Zach’s grandpa to talk to Courtney about what charges would do to Zach’s career. I am shocked that she decided not to press charges and had second thoughts about it from then on. He sent older men to intimidate a relatively newly married woman after she was abused. Hooray. I’m sure that had no effect on her future reports.

So Meyers wife, a nurse, doesn’t go to the police with the information of a pregnant woman being beaten, instead she goes straight to the top to her hubby? Wow.......and as a medical professional that’s the requirement? How is law enforcement not involved in this aspect?
I did appreciate seeing the women’s rights groups holding their rally in support of the abused exwife. It made a strong statement. Oh wait, those were rally’s to support the coach that DIDNT stick up for the abused woman? Wow! Surprising.....

During the press conference, Ohio St.'s president talks about valuing truth. Not quite, not when Urban lies during B1G media days. Also hard to believe Meyer near the end of today's press conference when he said he did not know about his wife's text messages from Courtney Smith. It's gonna be tough to believe things Meyer or the current Ohio St. administration has to say from here on out. That might be their punishment, as much as anything.
