Didn't Stoll or somebody say before the season started that this team could get 70 or 80 points per game?
I agree with you... but these players just simply are not very good... or at least the ones on the field are notOmg. Stop. Others have to step in and step up. The talent excuse has been used on every failed coach. It’s weak and others have to start playing better. There is enough talent here to NOT get your ass kicked by freakin Minnesota.

Can we ask hornaday to stop giving us all this ammo? But that IS Nebraska football these days. That's the way we do it!
So, only at Nebraska do the recruiting rankings miss? I don’t buy that either. It’s virtually impossible for all of Nebraska’s players to not be as good as advertised. Coaching has to come in somewhere.I agree with you... but these players just simply are not very good... or at least the ones on the field are not
What are you talking about? The schemes were broken against Minnesota and we failed to change the fundamental problems. That is not one blocking and tackling alone. We twisted and slanted our DL wide while relying on 5'10" DBs to take on OL. We are poor at linebacker play and it showed. We don't have a deep pass and it showed. We overloaded the formation and tried to string out the defense with a slow developing hand sweep play after play. We forced the ball into 9 in the box.. One schematic issue after another.I promise you SF does not believe his scheme won’t work in the BIG. We did not get beat on schemes last night. We still can’t block or tackle.
He is right. It is just against the Husker defense that they would score 70 against.Didn't Stoll or somebody say before the season started that this team could get 70 or 80 points per game?

This happens everywhere with a coaching change. At some point, you have to start heading north. NU was doing that the last 6 games of 2018. This year, it’s pointing south, that’s not good. Expectations were placed on the program, he welcomed that. It almost looks like a Riley team out there. It’s not a fundamentally sound team. That’s got nothing to do with talent.I think you probably have a point but how many of the kids from Riley’s recruiting classes (generally rated in upper to mid 20’s if I remember correctly) are actually still around? The other thing I am seeing (but you would know better than me so correct me if I am wrong) is that especially along the lines the kids being recruited now really don’t look anything like what we have playing. The o-line recruits seem to be much longer than the current players and it seems the 2 deep on the d-line was almost all recruited to play in the 4-3. So yeah, these players were pretty well rated but seemingly for a different system (whether they should be utilizing the players strengths or going full force to install the new system is another discussion).
We've had two seasons to recruit OLBs, which is really the only defensive player that differs from 3-4 to 4-3. I think people make too much out of that. Some teams use specialist OLBs that flip relative to offensive formations to make it easier on the OLB. The 90's Huskers certainly did. Otherwise you are trying to find unobtainable recruits that would be spectacular in any system. The o-line recruits seem to be much longer than the current players and it seems the 2 deep on the d-line was almost all recruited to play in the 4-3. I think last year the Huskers last six games were against some of the less talented offensive teams though. This year the team has looked horrible though against some of the same teams they were competitive with or beat last year. Compare OSU's games....Illinois games. This year, the team just isn't that good. I really thought people bringing up how well the team finished last year was a bit of a mirage. MichSt had a terrible offense. Bethune Cookman. Who else? The four wins were not against mostly unimpressive teams. This happens everywhere with a coaching change. At some point, you have to start heading north. NU was doing that the last 6 games of 2018.
