'26 Spring Practice Thread: 26 March Coach Rhule available briefly (5-10 min), followed by OL Coach Geep Wade and 3-4 players.

Colandrea seems to have a fun upbeat personality. A team building personality.

Danny's comments were kind of telling mentioning money as a distraction. He has seen it at two schools now how money dictates pecking order and create division.

A lot hinges on D line play and a new D in general, but the offense could be pretty fun to watch this year.

We are bordering on a 3 deep at WR. We expect improvement along the offensive line in pass pro and run blocking. We have a couple of pretty mobile QBs. We have a nice selection of TEs, especially if Nelson gets fully healthy and the game keeps slowing down for him. Plus we get Bonner back.

With Bonner back, plus Nyziah and Kwazi being big athletic strong guys, it would nice to see Jacory and maybe Larry Miles better used in screen game. We have so many ways we could attack in WR screen game if we can make teams respect those 12-15+ yard routes.

RBs stand to see better initial holes and downfield blocking so hopefully they won't need as much of the yards after contact that EJ provided.

Interesting

My dad is not a golfer or even a casual watcher of the sport. But he told me several decades back that professional golfers are gonna look like NASCAR drivers/cars with all of the sponsors plastered over themselves.

Bet that he didn't think that the same would happen in college football.

Interesting times, I suppose.

Absolutely disagree.

Trying to force the ball to Barney is/was a problem.

Barney needs to work on route running and getting himself open in the route tree. If he is to make the NFL it’s likely as a slot receiver. If he wants to achieve success at that level he needs to simply be able to get open. All too often he is covered downfield because his footwork, explosiveness and separation is inadequate.

Because he cannot get open NU is forced to get him the ball in creative ways (screens, reverses) that simply do not work well.

Everyone in the country knew when Barney was on field that NU was going to throw to him on a screen or an out route. Make those options effective by getting open downfield first.

If they do it like the big clubs around the futbal (soccer) world they can do it with a multi year deal with one sponsor

Much like stadium naming rights in the NFL

Its not going away

Yeah, I get it.

Doesn't mean that I'm a fan of it, though. However, the good old days (if they were indeed good) aren't coming back.

If this is the brave new world, I want DONU to succeed theirin.
