During the match in South Dakota John Cook said there was some big stuff in the works but wouldn't say what, maybe that is what he was talking about.
So it appears they will have a conference tournament Nov 20-25 for the top 15 teams. I assume that means conference champion gets a bye.
No, top 4 seeds get double byes, and seeds 4-7 get single byes, like the Big Ten WBB tournament this year.
Other than the Red-White and maybe Alumni scrimmages, this event will likely be the kickoff of the new Devaney/Cook.
A few years ago, Cook said he thought there were only two D1 wonmen's programs making money; Nebraska Volleyball and UConn Basketball. This addition will be a fair boost to a self-sustaining volleyball program.
This is a good year for us to play Texas. We have a deep, talented, experienced team. I expect the ladies will be ready for this one.
Word is there will be more than one match that weekend. I'm curious who the other team will be. I'm hoping it will be another top ten-caliber team. Maybe Stanford, SMU, Arizona State or someone at that level.
