DK heating up, better team balance.
Having two improved things, overall qb play and just a better passing game, which includes just more experienced and higher abilities is doing many things.
We all see the obvious, over the top dimes, wrs running dbs off the ball with a perfectly timed ball coming in etc. But imo, whats happening is, our dbs are getting roughed up a little. Just because our offense can now actually do that. Iron sharpens Iron. We didn't do well on 3rd down D last year, and it wasn't competition running over us, it was them passing over us. Imo, we will be much more prepared, skilled and successful this year.
So real competition is going on, the ultimate complimentary football.
This has been true for awhile now. Hope you're right about being more successful this year.
When we heard start dropping passes over the top that adds another dimension a defense has to account for. A well placed ball makes it a natural defense of putting the wrs body between defender and ball.
It also gives the wrs practice to use their bodies in adjustable throws where they can still do this, something we didn't see much of in years past.
This also makes our speed more useable and PI's more evident
