2024 Pinstripe Bowl: Nebraska vs Boston College Game Thread (12/28/24)

A few things I liked about the game:
1. The guys who played looked like they loved playing in that game and playing for the Huskers. Transfer portal and turnover be damned.
2. The coaches coached them up, no matter new guys/young guys, and played to win and get after it from the kickoff.
3. They did not let horrific ST play or gash offensive plays outweigh some tough, hard-fought play. They didn’t get fazed by the screw ups of a few.
4. Late hit or not, they rallied around DR in the moment. Playing with fire and a will to win are baseline qualities.
5. Given the player/coach turnover, communication and substitution issues were at a minimum. The coaches also took guys off the field after poor play. This is a veteran staff with guys who know how to coach.
6. And they won the game. BC was a decent opponent, and they beat a team they should have beaten. That should be part of the new normal.

Really enjoyed seeing this game live. Large and loud Husker contingent. BC crow was pretty quiet until the last 6 minutes of the fourth quarter. Nebraska played well despite deceptively slick conditions. Just cold enough to make the ball hard to handle and kick. Golden Eagles were apparently missing some important pieces including their starting center and an all-conference end, but Nebraska controlled the game for all but 3 minutes. The offense did well against another top 25 defense. Good win for Nebraska.
