The Huskers, who are coming off a 24-9 season that culminated with a trip to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, learned their conference matchups on Thursday, June 16, when the Big Ten announced its double- and single-plays for the upcoming season. No dates or times have been set, as the league scheduling process continues throughout the summer. A complete schedule with television designations is not expected until early fall.

Nebraska women's basketball 2022-2023 opponents announced

The Husker women's basketball team announced its 2022-2023 Big Ten opponents with home matches against the league's top four teams last season: Iowa, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio State.

Nebraska is coming off its best season since the 2013-2014 season when Connie Yori led the Huskers to a 26-7 finish and to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Nebraska’s home schedule is challenging as it features ESPN preseason No. 6 Iowa, No. 15 Ohio State, No. 18 Maryland, and Michigan, which made the 2022 Elite Eight. Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Wisconsin and Illinois will also travel to Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Huskers’ road matchups aren’t any easier as they travel to Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern and Illinois. They have four road-only games highlighting No. 12 Indiana, which has reached back-to-back Sweet Sixteens in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.

Huskers To Face Kansas in Lincoln - University of Nebraska

The Nebraska women's basketball team will face an old foe in its 2022-23 regular-season non-conference finale, when the Huskers play host to Kansas at Pinnacle Bank

The Jayhawks are expected to bring four returning starters and an impact transfer with them to Lincoln in December. Returning first-team All-Big 12 guard Holly Kersgieter (13.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg) and honorable-mention All-Big 12 guard Zakiyah Franklin (12.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.0 apg) headline the Jayhawk backcourt. Ioanna Chatzileonti (9.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg) and Taiyanna Jackson (8.9 ppg, 8.1 rpg) add size and strength inside. Jackson earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive team after the 6-6 center set the school record with 95 blocked shots. The Jayhawks also expect to be bolstered by the addition of Wyvette Mayberry, a two-year starter at Tulsa who averaged 14.1 points per game while hitting 43 percent of her three-pointers a year ago.
