2021 MLB

It's time for a thread dedicated to the 2021 MLB season. The rich get richer as the Dodgers continue to look like the favorite after adding Bauer to the rotation. The NL East looks like an absolute meat grinder as all 5 teams have genuine possibilities at making the Postseason. Tatis Jr. is out with a hurt shoulder, Buxton and Cruz are crushing for the Twins, and it's only a matter of time before Stanton or Judge gets hurt in the Bronx.

Go Braves

NL East is going to be a blast to watch all year. There’s some serious talent in that division. Whoever wins that is going to have been put through a meat grinder. If it’s a veteran team, it will help them in the playoffs as they will be basically be playing high-level playoff games the final month of the season. Typically those teams come out of it very sharp. Think Nationals in 2019. If it’s a young team though, the grind can really get to them mentally.

Royals are leading the division!
Salvador Perez is a beast. And their starting pitching, aside from a couple rough starts early for Keller and Singer. looks pretty competitive. Singer, in particular, is not timid. Thought if they could do better than 0.500 on this 10-game homestand with Angels, Jays and Rays, would be nice. Now I'm greedy, how about WINNING all three series?

Injuries are piling up for the braves, but they are getting good production for the utility guys and call us which is the key to maintaining until Albies, Acuna, Fried, Sonoma, etc come back.

NL East is an absolute meat grinder and any team can win a series against any other team.

Sonoma? You mean Soroka?

White Sox are playing some decent ball even without Jimenez and if they can get on a hot streak, lookout AL Central.

Great start the season.

The Royals are among the best stories. This was considered a rebuilding season in KC. And it may ultimately end up that way, but at least as of now, the appear legit. Perez seems to have a clutch hit in almost every win. Danny Duffy has been pitching like an ace. And Whit is still Whit.

The A's are red hot -- 12 straight wins!?

The Giants are tied with the second best record in the majors?!

Seattle has been playing well, somehow.

The Yankees suck! There must be a god. Okay, I shouldn't say that too loudly, as they are hardly out of any race. Truth is, very few teams have fallen the point where it looks like they can't compete.

The Rockies and Tigers are the only two 5 or more games out in their division. Most considered the Pirates to be easily the worst team in baseball this season, but they haven't been bad.

The entire NL East is right around .500. Meat grinder division.

The Reds offense is churning out dingers and scoring runs at a rapid pace.

The Red Sox got swept in their opening series but have since vaulted to the top of the AL East.

The stinkin' Dodgers, however, still look like the best team in baseball. They've dealt with key injuries, yet they just roll out some no name who ends up looking like an All-Star. I'd love to see the Padres win that division, and they've really built a great team in San Diego.

Brutal, Braves, Brutal!

ATL only managed 1 hit total over a double-header loss to Arizona today. That's mind-boggling.

Meanwhile, KC wins again! Now with the second-best record in the majors behind only the Dodgers. Unbelievable! The Royals rotation is pitching extremely well.

Royals, with 5-1 road trip through Detroit (wow, they are struggling!) and Pittsburgh thus far, cling percentage-wise to MLB-best record, heading to Minnesota! Don't suspect it will last much longer, but beats the recent past. And pipeline pitching and position talent looking to make way to the big club. Optimistic!

I think the Braves will be fine. Only 1 game out, even while not playing well yet this season.

The Royals are expected to compete this year a bit. They’ve started well. They even spent some money in the off season. They might hang in there for a while.
