I dont care who play, but the Huskers have been the best part of Black Friday for decades. Really hope we get that fixed.
Also, the 2021 schedule is absolutely brutal. Not only do we draw Ohio St, Michigan, and Michigan st but we also have to play Oklahoma in non-con.

If we go 3-1 we have a good shot at making the 4 team playoffs.
Probably so, as long as we still beat Wisconsin, Iowa, and everyone else in the B1G West and then win the B1G title game. Hell, we should be in contention with two losses if we end up winning the B1G that year.
Hopefully we'll have guys like Parsons and Bookie playing for us in 2021. We're going to need those types of players to be anything more than a 7-win or 8-win team given that schedule.

This is totally bogus. I am really depressed about losing the Black Friday game. I'm also really bummed that we can't have a set rivalry opponent for the end of the year. All our traditions are going out the window. I really wonder if our lack of identity for so many years has come from not having a main rival like we did with Oklahoma for so long.
We have nothing to strive for when our end-of-year showdown is a team that is historically worse than us (from Colorado to Iowa and now Minnesota?). Yikes. I've been afraid for years that we'll become like Minnesota some day (they won national championships in the 1930s, '40s, and 1960). This is definitely not helping.

Based on the articles I've read regarding the schedules, aren't the change in opponents and day played separately determined? It sounded like the league set the schedule and the AD's had input on which day those final games could be. I could be wrong, just basing that on quotes from Eichorst and Riley about the day of the week, and then the assistant commissioner suggesting that they might switch our final opponent the next 2 seasons to Wisconsin. I'd like to see something definitely before I speculate about the league's view of NU. SE and MR were both supportive of the game being on Saturday in terms of staying on schedule for the week, even though I'd prefer to see the final game on Black Friday, but that's just me.

Time was we all would have welcomed the opportunity to beat every contender in conference. I think we should again, instead of predicting disaster!
I said essentially the same thing in a few threads just recently. I agree.
not really the point.
in the past (i.e. big 8) 1 team didnt have an easier path to a conference title than another. this year nu could beat wisco and they'd still be the odds-on-favorite to win the west. in a year where nu plays Mich, OSU and MSU and iowa or wisco plays some other much easier combo...that sucks. you'd think it would balance out but it doesnt seem to.
I think the powers that be realize (finally) that Wisky and the Huskers are going to be the western powers for some time to come. I like the chance to play them late!
