I think that I might start a new thread on the topic of which coaches are interesting, and which ones put me to sleep (literally). Fleck is definitely one of the better speakers. Chryst, Day, and Harbaugh? Not so much. Harbaugh is interesting only to the extent that he's so odd when he's up there. I honestly can't tell if he's purposefully giving smug or obscurantist answers to try and needle the media, or if he's just living in La-la Land. Based on his past comments on the dangers of eating chicken, I'm increasingly leaning towards the latter.
My #1 criticism of Fleck is that--based on the rumors at Western Michigan--he's a fraud as far as ethics, morals, and being a role model. He supposedly was banging a booster/booster's wife (I'm not sure who in that marriage had the cash?), yet he bald-facedly speaks about developing the "spiritual" aspect of his players' lives. He's got the scent of the snake-oil salesman about him, and I hate it. The #2 criticism, which would be enough by itself (fwiw), is that he doesn't seem to have much loyalty to his assistant coaches as he has discarded them along the way as he's been promoted.
On the other hand, anyone who can't acknowledge that the guy can coach football is lying to themselves. He also seems to be a top-notch recruiter. Whether you like listening to him talk or not, he has very charming qualities when dealing with the press. He hands out compliments freely--including to Frost and Nebraska--and that part always comes across as sincere. He's quite polished as a public speaker/interviewee. Watch him and Chryst, back to back, and tell me which guy you'd rather have a beer with. Back to that first hand, I could probably trust Chryst to not try hitting on my wife though.
