Indiana Basketball Coaches Association names girls All-State teams; DeKalb’s Leigha Brown part of Senior Supreme 15 group

The IBCA All-State teams are headed by their “Supreme 15” honor for the top 15 seniors and the top 15 underclass players in the state, with three players representing our area. The “Supreme 15” is the top honor awarded, and players were voted to that group without regard to school size.

With Ashtyn Veerbeek, Kayla Mershon, Leigha Brown, Makenzie Helms and Sam Haiby joining the team me thinks we have some good players coming on board. Looks like Amy's trying to build some good depth.

A pair of girls’ basketball players from northeast Indiana will participate in the 30th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic this weekend.

Leigha Brown of DeKalb and Ellen Ross of Bishop Dwenger have been chosen to be on the North squad in Saturday’s game at John R. Wooden Gymnasium at Martinsville High School.

Brown, the 2018 News-Sentinel Girls Basketball Player of the Year, is headed to the University of Nebraska to continue her playing career. Meanwhile, Ross is headed to Butler.
