Nebraska held a secret scrimmage today:

http://www.huskers.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=210463852

From the article, they did okay. The picture with the article shows a line-up of Shields, Morrow, Watson, Webster, and White during a timeout. I don't know if that's the starting line-up, but it was the group playing at some point.

8 days until the first scrimmage, available on BTN2Go Plus.

Shooting 40% from 3-pt. range sounds encouraging.

23 assists is a step in the right direction too (Benny and White had 7 and 6 respectively). Again with that photo, looks like both Benny (now wearing #32) and Jake Hammond had been playing which I hope is a good thing.

With the number of assists and the high 3-point percentage, I would guess the movement that Coach Miles wanted is happening and guys are finding the open man!! Hopefully, the team is developing confidence in each other!

hope so.

Here is some background information regarding the 'secret' scrimmage from another site that we may find encouraging! :)

...this should have been two fairly evenly-matched teams. Wyoming is ranked fairly middle-of-the-pack in the nation by Kenpom (180th) as are we (137th). They finished 4th in the Mountain West last year and had 25 wins, so they certainly weren't bad. Looking at the rosters, we have similar size.

The biggest difference is that we have 3 top-100 recruits/transfers now eligible that we didn't have last year. And we've shed ourselves of some of the locker room issues that might have held us back a bit last year.

News from some Other 'Secret' Scrimmages that we may find interesting.

if we're getting information from these closed/secret scrimmages, what is the point of making them closed/secret? seriously.

these closed "scrimmages" are stupid, JIMLO. allow the public to witness.

We did it every year with Moe and the boys. They don't want fans because they want it to be about the things your respective team needs to work on. When you don't have a reason to 'show off', or let the crowd influence your play, you tend to get more accomplished from that aspect. We beat the Huskers the first 2 seasons, then Moe decided he didn't want to have the score kept anymore because it really was about working on things and not winning or losing. We thought it was pretty funny at the time, but I kind of understand it better now.
