Saw a couple stats today that were a bit disappointing.

NU averages 12 assists and 13 turnovers a game. that's bad.

Another stat was that nu has assists on something like 43% of their made shots...which ranks 320th in the nation. that's bad as well.

I've seen some people say they are happier with the offense. I don't see how. those two stats are indicative of how efficiently an offense is running...they aren't "end all/be all stats" but man...that has to improve.

Must be doing something right as they just hung 87 on Indiana while having more turnovers than assists (12/13) and beat Maryland while again having a negative ATT ratio (10/15). So they averaged 77 points at two of the hardest places to play in college basketball while carrying a negative ATT ratio. You know, it's almost as if style of play may dictate assist-to-turnover ratio.

Good teams tend to have solid ATT ratios, that's true. I'd like to see Nebraska improve on that. Good teams also have high quality shooters though. Nebraska doesn't get 10 or 12 easy assists every game because a few snipers smoke the nets. We have to generate points in other ways, which is a lot of dribble-drives. That type of style not only has less assists, it generates more turnovers as well because there is a lot more ball handling involved.

How about these stats. To close out the game against Indiana, Nebraska scored 17 points on the last 9 possessions. Against Maryland, they scored 13 points on the final 7 possessions.

No doubt nu has had an excellent 2 game run.

Let's make that a 3 game run. I was half expecting them to give the Iowa game away in the first overtime...but, they didn't and then had an excellent 2nd overtime. OTOH, free throw shooting....

Hey RD, the 2/19 game against OSU has been set to 5pm CST.

Thanks for the Eagle-eye! Update has been made! (btw, the game is on Sat, 2-18 (it had been tentatively either Sat or Sun) and the TV carrier will be BTN (was tentatively BTN or CBS).

This Thursday's upcoming game vs Mich State should be carried on ESPN, according to MSU's game page. (was tentatively ESPN or ESPN2)

Reddit had some very rumoresque info that stated Morrow was a game time decision for Purdue and is very likely to play against MSU on Thursday. Absolutely no links or even official sounding sources...just 'on campus types' throwing stuff out there.

We can only hope its true.

I sure hope he comes back sound. The losing streak can definitely be attributed to his absence in part. We could easily be 6-3 in conference right now.
