LOL....it's May.....If you were to wager who will have the higher rated class this coming February, would you bet Nebraska or Alabama?

As the article points out though. When is the last time Ala only had 2 recruits in May? At least one recruit said there were just too many guys already stock piled at his position. Top 50/100 guys want to go somewhere they at least have a shot at early playing time. When you are looking at 2 top 35 RB from the past 2 years still waiting to see the field. Why would you want to be the third?

So who would you bet on? :)

Ok... let me rephrase... Who do you think will finish rated higher?

I know you didn't quit thinking....
Some on here would probably disagree with you.

As a result of our low numbers Ala is probably the answer. Average stars may be closer than some think this year.

Mainly because our kicker is not yet rated. So that counts as a zero.

When it's all said and done there will likely be other teams with with specialists dragging down their rating who aren't there now, another reason looking at recruiting rankings in May is pretty useless.

So you are saying that they don't really have any problem because they are loaded at that position and don't need to recruit it this year, let alone in May. They might agree with you and be trying to find any potential position where they might need a recruit...they might not need any this year...

Maybe all the negative exposure has finally caught up with them. You can polish a turd but it is still turd. That is my thinking for Saban.

Why not? Bear did. Joepa did. Every coach eventually has dips.

To this point, Mack Brown had Texas really rolling from about 2004-2009, played in 2 NCs, won 1. They annually had a top 5 recruiting class, etc. Granted, not as successful as current Alabama, but after TX and AL played for the NC at the end of 2009, TX was never really the same. They had a couple misses at QB, Will Muschamp left and their D suffered, complacency and entitlement set in, and they lost their edge. Saban seems to be a very good football CEO, and he seems to do well in restocking his staff. But, you have to wonder if at some point he loses an assistant coach and then has a couple misses in hiring. I know that the best of the best want to play at AL, and they seem to have a great work ethic with their practices which is also peer-driven, a la 1990s Huskers. But, also have to wonder how long that will last and if entitlement/complacency/fatigue will ever set in under Saban. One thing about Saban is that he seems to recognize those things in his team early and he seems to nip those things in the butt early.
