(CTRL+F "Nebraska")

these are basically the rumor mills of athletic hires but it is something

Mike'l Severe asked IADDR (10/12/17) about when he thinks doNU will hire a permanent ad and this was his response:
"pobably a week or two maybee, i have no idea really, i just get a feeling that they have made some progress and feel pretty good about where they are right now"
here is the link to that audio - AD talk starts around 11-minute mark

Lee Barfknecht is reporting that it is a matter of days before hire announced:

LINCOLN — Look for Nebraska to introduce a new athletic director this week.

It’s not official, but three sources with ties to NU’s administration indicated Saturday interviews took place late last week and that a decision is either imminent or already made. Other sources told The World-Herald that Interim A.D. Dave Rimington mentioned to friends that his time in North Stadium is down to a few days.

No

I have a long time good friend who is big (as in give lots of cash) ISU booster: says they would be glad to let Pollard go, not well liked despite his financial successes.

Our last AD was pretty savvy financially and we fired him. We need a guy who can bring in a top notch football and basketball coach if that is the direction he chooses.

That is the problem we have. Since "Empty Seats" Pederson we have put maximum revenue above quality teams. Boosters are more important than the sports programs. Bill Byrne could handle this and do both, but most AD's can't. They will either excell at fundraising or they will excell at running the athletic department. Until the UNL administration is willing to accept less football income and hire a sports savvy AD, we will have inferior coaches and teams.
