HUSKERS LOOK TO KNOCK OFF BIG TEN LEADERS

The Nebraska men's basketball team hosts the Big Ten leader on Thursday evening, as No. 7/5 Wisconsin visits Pinnacle Bank Arena.
  • Nebraska is averaging 73.0 points per game in conference play.
  • Tai Webster is one of only three power conference players in the country currently averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
  • The Huskers could be without Ed Morrow Jr. for the eighth straight game because of a right foot injury. Morrow is third on the team in scoring (10.1) while leading the Huskers in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and blocked shots (1.5 bpg).

SCOUTING WISCONSIN

Under second-year coach Greg Gard, the Badgers come to Lincoln with a 20-3 record and riding a seven-game win streak following a 65-60 win over Indiana. In that game. Wisconsin held Indiana to 43 percent shooting, and got to the foul line 31 times.
  • The Badgers are a veteran club that returned not only its starting five, but its top nine scorers from last year. UW has also stayed healthy this season, rolling out the same starting lineup in all 23 contests.
  • Third-year sophomore Ethan Happ paced Wisconsin's attack with 17.7 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals from the center spot, while Nigel Hayes is averaging 13.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists. The third Badger scoring in double figures is senior Bronson Koenig, who averaged 14.0 points per game and leads the Badgers with 62 3-pointers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacobson on how do you defend Happ?: "I'm hoping Jordy and Ed handle that" (Does that mean Ed is coming back????)

We have zero chance(okay, a .00009% chance) of winning this game tomorrow. Having said that, Nebraska 79 Wisconsin 78 GO BIG RED!!!!
So far, the only wins we have gotten in conference are against the top half teams.

I think NU certainly has a shot...assuming Watson can go near 100%. obviously Wisconsin is good but I don't see them as dominant. they aren't a team that just going to boat race a lot of teams so they SHOULDN'T blow nu out. if nu can stay in the game and hit a few shots at the right time it can be done. just stay in striking distance.

For the most part, NU stays within striking distance of good teams. Unfortunately, they also allow bad teams to stay within striking distance and worse.

Which is why I think nu is dangerous here.

NU is +320 on the money line...might be worth a little taste.

Depends on if we can get solid minutes out of Watson & keep jordy out of foul trouble. Could see Horne & Roby being important in the game with their length. Huskers win! GBR!
