Las Vegas Raiders!

I don't know about the corporate dollars.

Nevada has two companies in the Fortune 500 (both are casino/resorts). Neither is in the top 200.

You are talking about a travel destination city and a plastic one at that. Every company in the area will have plenty of season tickets for them to give away. Sure, it will be a less 'die hard fan' crowd but tickets will be sold. It will look much like a Super Bowl crowd. Corporate tickets everywhere.

True.

But again, as long as the economy stays healthy and the tourism dollars are rolling in. Vegas is very fragile, economically.

HWM there are tons of Raider fans all over the country. They will flock to LV for that 4 day weekend of fun. Lots of Raider fans that would not go to Oakland for a game.

Nebraska actually has more Fortune 500 companies (5). And three ranked ahead of any in Nevada.

And FWIW, the Phoenix metro has about 2.5 times the population of the Las Vegas metro.

As I said, Vegas will attract plenty of out-of-towners, cheering on the opposition. And a good percentage of the locals who are from elsewhere. But that city better hope the economy stays strong, because as we saw with the 2008 crash, Vegas takes it harder than just about any other major city, as it relies so heavily on tourism (definitely more than any other major U.S. city). I'm simply not convinced this is a stable NFL market, long-term.

Seriously doubt that the majority of fans will be rooting against, most of the people will drive in from Cali on the weekend and a huge majority will be raider fans. As for locals, I would say the raiders have been one of the favorites here for a long time, I'm not sure who is more popular here the raiders or the cowboys. Sure a lot of comps will be given out but that's part of the game here. As for the economy we still had over 39 million visitors in 2009 at the height of the recession.

I saw a report from a local Vegas guy on ESPN or NFL network late last night that said 25% of Vegas were already Raider fans. Also that they expect to draw fans from not only the California markets but Arizona and Utah as well.

I was watching Mike and Mike this morning and they had on that Sal Palentonio(?), of coarse they were coming up with all the negatives of going to LV. He thought the temptation of staying in a casino the night before a game would be an awful for players. I guess I don't see that. They can get hookers and blow in any town they are playing in the night before a game.

Also, there are casino's all over California. Vegas' population is somewhere around 600,000, and that is obviously not counting the tourists. They'll do good.

Clark County is over 2 million people. There are more people in that area than people realize.
Yeah, I know. I live in Nevada, but I was just talking about the city itself.

Las Vegas , Nev. 613,599 .... and this was from 2014 census. It's a pretty big area. They came in at #29 biggest city in America from the 2014 census. Vegas will do good in my humble opine. What I do find funny though, my Dolphins were the only franchise that voted no..... LOL.... dumb fish....

Actually a lot more money available in Vegas than Oaktown. All the internet millionaires in the bay area are 9er fans. The trader fans are primarily 9-5 folks. Think about the potential just for luxury boxes alone. Pretty much every major casino will buy a luxury box. They will use it as bait to get the whales into town.

Odd thi

Odd thing about Las Vegas is a lot of its population is in "unincorporated Clark county" but as far as anyone is concerned it's still Las Vegas. Just another political boondoggle.
