Werth helps NU wrap spring with strong showing
AMES, Iowa — The Nebraska volleyball team completed its spring season undefeated after taking down Iowa State 25-16, 22-25, 27-25, 25-16 on Saturday at Hilton Coliseum.
Hannah Werth led the Huskers with 17 kills and 11 digs, along with a .371 hitting percentage. Gina Mancuso added 15 kills on .429 hitting.
Lauren Cook had 41 assists and 11 digs, helping the Huskers hit .276 for the match. Morgan Broekhuis led NU at the net with 10 kills and five block assists, while Hayley Thramer chipped in four blocks.
Nebraska outblocked Iowa State 15½-4 while holding the Cyclones to a .106 hitting percentage.
Jamie Straube, a Tecumseh, Neb., native, led ISU with 15 kills on .323 hitting. Rachel Hockaday and Victoria Hurtt each added 13 kills for the Cyclones.
The Huskers’ spring schedule included a 4-0 win over Hawaii on March 23, a 3-0 win over North Dakota State on April 7 and a 3-1 win against Wichita State on April 14.
