Kicker/punter Ben Kiernan — from Wakefield High School in Raleigh, North Carolina — announced the offer on social media Sunday night. He's rated the No. 13 punter in the nation according to Chris Sailer Kicking.

Nebraska is the first known offer for Kiernan according to his website profile on 247Sports. He also has drawn a preferred walk-on offer from Penn State and interest from North Carolina.

Interesting that we are offering a punter for 2019. In the surface, it seems a year early. Don't we have both Lightbourne and Armstrong back next year?

Maybe the staff is expecting Lightbourne to be a grad transfer. Is Oregon State looking for a punter? anyway, hard to imagine having two scholarship punters for a year.

We also have a punter from Lincoln committed as a walk-on for next season.
